We are looking for a Global Head of Accounting for a traveltech scaleup with global presence (+20 countries).

Following the company’s expansion, we are seeking a Global Head of Accounting reporting to the Finance Director, who will be based in the HQ in Lisbon.

✏️The Role

As a Global Head of Accounting, you will  play a pivotal role in elevating the finance function to international standards.

You will be responsible for building a fi rst-class accounting team, establishing world-class processes, and ensuring the reliability of Group financial reporting.

This role is key in preparing the company for its next phase of major capital market transactions.

You will be responsible for accounting and reporting of 20+ entities of the Group and for reporting the consolidated financial statements as a basis for financial analysis and management decisions in a dynamic environment and working very closely with the Financial Controlling and Corporate Finance teams.

🎯What will you work on?

• Build, lead, and mentor a first-class international accounting team
• Design and implement robust accounting processes and internal controls, ensuring the highest standards of financial integrity
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes, delivering timely and accurate consolidated accounts
• Spearhead the end-to-end implementation of a new ERP system, ensuring scalability and efficiency
• Prepare the Group for a transition to IFRS by end of 2026, including policy design and implementation
• Ensure the ability to rapidly integrate new accounting teams in the context of post-merger integrations (PMI)
• Coordinate annual audits and ensure alignment with international best practices
• Partner closely with Controlling, Corporate Finance, and Procurement teams to support the Group’s growth;
• Thrive in a hyper-growth environment, with the ability to structure processes and build from scratch

⭐Who we are looking for?

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Certified Accountant desirable
• Around 10 years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership roles in international environments
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards (including IFRS) and group consolidation
• Proven experience in ERP implementation from scratch and finance digitalization projects
• Experience in post-merger accounting integration
• Fluency in English (mandatory); other languages are a plus
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to operate under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to act as the guardian of the company’s financial credibility.
