We are looking for a strategic and hands-on Accounting Manager to lead the full transformation in Spain of the accounting function of a french multinational listed company, leader in digital payment operating in over 45 countries with a strong global footprint.
This is a key moment for the finance team: necesiblity to clearly split accounting and controlling tasks (integrated until recent past), increasing reporting requirements, and a clear mandate to modernize processes.
Mission
The Accounting Manager reports to the Finance Director and manages a team of 3 in Spain.
The main challenge is to ensure rigorous compliance and high-quality reporting in a challenging and fast-paced environment while optimizing the end-to-end accounting process, increasing automation and efficiency (current processes are still highly manual, excel-based).
You will:
- Lead and develop a team of 3 accountants
- Oversee the full accounting cycle
- Ensure tax, treasury and audit compliance
- Drive process excellence and continuous improvement
- Act as the bridge between local finance and HQ
This role requires someone hands-on with strong excel expertise who stays close to the team, brings clarity, and helps them think beyond execution.
Key Responsibilities
a) Closing & Financial Reporting
- Own month-end and year-end closing
- Ensure accurate Balance Sheet, P&L and Cash Flow reporting
- Manage IFRS adjustments vs local GAAP
- Lead local consolidation and intercompany reporting
- Guarantee compliance with statutory and group reporting requirements

Prepare annual financial accounts
b) Process Optimization & Automation
- Conduct a full end-to-end review of accounting processes
- Identify inefficiencies and automation opportunities
- Implement quality controls over financial transactions
- Define accounting flows for new products
- Ensure new product compliance with local regulations
- Drive future continuous improvement initiatives
c) Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, organize and structure a team of 3 in Spain
- Set clear goals aligned with strategy
- Work closely with the team: coaching, training, pedagogy
- Bring structure and accountability where today execution is too task-driven
- Be present, hands-on and detail-oriented
d) Financial Control & Governance
- CAPEX control
- Treasury & cash flow reporting
- Payroll control & accounting
- Tax review (VAT, Corporate Tax)
- External audit management
- Relationship with external tax advisors
What We Are Looking For
Experience
- Around 10 years in similar Accounting leadership roles or consolidated experience as a Senior Accountant, with strong people management skills to lead and manage a team of 3
- Proven experience managing accounting under strict deadlines (reporting topline P&L D+1, bottomline P&L D+4)
- Previous experience in multinational environments
- Experience in audit firm (BIG 4 or else) is a plus
- Strong knowledge of Spanish accounting standards + IFRS
- Experience in consolidation and intercompany adjustments
- Exposure to controlling is highly valued (finance & accounting are closely integrated)
Technical Skills
- Solid financial accounting expertise

Advanced excels (incl macros knowledge)
- Strong knowledge of VAT and Corporate Tax
- Treasury management experience
- Strong accounting process expertise
- Advanced Excel
- ERP experience (Oracle is a plus)
- TMS experience with Kyriba is a plus
- English B2 minimum
