We are looking for a Corporate Venture Capital Analyst for the Corporate Strategy and Development Unit of a multinational group based in Barcelona that operates in Consumer goods.
With +70 legal entities and revenues exceeding €2bn, the group operates in +20 countries throughout Europe, America, and Africa. Its core capabilities include strong talent, brands, and innovation.
Mission:
The Corporate Strategy & Development team is responsible for:
• Corporate Strategy: Leading and supervising major strategic projects both at Group and Company level.
• Special Projects Acceleration: Supporting the acceleration of high-growth organic and inorganic projects.
• Corporate Venturing: Detecting transformational trends, scouting potential start-ups, managing potential investments in start-ups and supporting/ advising portfolio companies.
• M&A: Scouting and executing M&A opportunities (acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures and divestiture) across the Group.
About the Team:
You will be working with around 15 Team members, most of them with top tier banking and consulting experience (BCG, Bain, McKinsey...)
What you will be doing:
• Reporting to the Head of Venture Capital, your main duty will be to manage and support across the different stages of the investment process into startups, e.g. sourcing, due diligence analysis, investment, portfolio management and advisory of invested start-ups.
• Actively contribute to the strategic reflection of the projects involved through advanced analysis and recommendations.
• Prepare presentation materials and solidly present and defend them within senior forums.
• To be in contact with internal and external stakeholders.
This position will have significant exposure to most senior positions both at Group level (Group CSFO, CBDO and Project Managers, Companies Top Management, and other leading roles).
What you need to have:
• 1-3 years of experience in Strategic Consulting, Private Equity/ Venture Capital, Start-up or M&A. Alternatively, experience in a strategy / transformation department.
• Structured person with strong problem solving analytical and quantitative skills.
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication/ presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Hands-on person.
• Strong fluency in English (Spanish appreciated, but not required).
• Ability to travel if required (<20%).
