We are looking for a Finance Director for a huge go-to campervan marketplace for road trips with +400 employees worldwide and presence in 20 countries across Europe, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia.

Thanks to its digital approach and customer-centric orientation, the company has developed a strong booking experience and high-quality road trips at affordable prices.

You will be joining a dynamic and technology driven company, working with a team of 20 nationalities and young dynamic people.

Following the company’s expansion, we are seeking a Growth Director who will be based in the HQ in Lisbon.

✏️The Role

The Finance Director will be joining the Financial Planning and Reporting team in HQs, reporting directly to the CFO, and working very closely with all stakeholders across the organization.

You will manage a team/organisation of more than 15 people and must take a hand-on leadership role that supports high-level strategic decisions, implementation of scalable processes while having operational responsibilities and not being afraid to dive into the details.

🎯What will you work on?

  • Build and implement processes across the finance organization in the areas of accounting, reporting, controlling, financial planning and treasury, ensuring scalable and efficient operations across the globe. This includes selecting and implementing technological solutions (ERP, PO and invoice approval flows, treasury software, inventory management, …) that suit the needs of a scalable business.
  • Create, coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance to the Executive Team and Board of Directors (financial and operational performance, projections, and other special projects as required).
  • Develop and manage annual and multi-year budgets that are adequate for the organization’s needs including preparation of periodic budget forecasts.
  • Create a data driven culture with a financial mindset within the organization providing tools to the different teams to assess their performance and be accountable for their results.
  • Prepare short and long-term forecasts of financial performance for use with internal management and external parties.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines in all areas of the business.
  • Ensure timely and accurate management of all financial aspects including production of financial accounts, auditing, taxes, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Manage and monitor all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate financial standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee audit and tax functions, coordinate activities with outside audit firms and review firms' performance. Collaborate with auditing services to ensure proper compliance with all regulations.
  • Manage all treasury processes, exchange rate risk and short to mid term cash flow planning.
  • Monitor changes in financial regulations and legislation.
  • Lead and motivate the financial reporting and reporting team, creating a high standards culture of ownership and attention to detail.
  • Challenge the business and the company stakeholder to find ways to improve performance, provide insights on improvement and investment opportunities.

⭐Who we are looking for?

  • 9-12 years of experience in finance or accounting roles in companies with international exposure
  • Strong progression in financial roles (from analyst/controller to senior finance positions)
  • Management of teams of more than 5-10 people and more than one competence
  • Experience leading cross-functional projects or initiatives involving other departments
  • Hands-on responsibility for developing annual budgets, financial forecasts, and business plans and closing the financial accounts
  • Experience in process improvement or automation initiatives within the finance function and implementation or upgrading financial systems (e.g., ERP, reporting tools)
