We are looking for a Product Owner (Hardware devices or Embedded Systems) for a leading innovator company in digital signage solutions, offering hardware and software that delivers engaging experiences in physical spaces.

This role reports to the Head of Product & Innovation, working as part of a squad.

You will also have the opportunity to collaborate with 3 more Product Owners in the company.

🎯Mission

You will be responsible of the development and roadmap of our hardware media player devices that run on Android, Windows, and Linux systems.

👉Role Overview

The Product owner will be responsible for defining and managing the development roadmap for media player devices designed for digital signage, ensuring alignment withboththecompany’s strategic goals and customer needs.

The role will require a deep understanding of hardware product management, as well as the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, marketing, and customer success.

✍️Key Responsibilities

a) Product Strategy & Vision:

  • Define and drive the roadmap for the media player product line, ensuring that development priorities align with the company’s objectives and market demand.
  • Stay up to date with trends in digital signage and media player technologies to identify new opportunities and potential threats.

b) Hardware Development:

  • Collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams to ensure that devices running on Android, Windows, and Linux meet the required performance, security, and reliability standards.
  • Work with suppliers and manufacturing teams to ensure hardware components and devices are delivered on time and meet quality standards.

c) Cross- Platform Coordination:

  • Manage the integration of media player devices with the broader digital signage software ecosystem. This software acts as a bridge, allowing our CMS to communicate with any hardware (Player or SoC). So, the firmware's role is to provide hardware independence. This is true for any OS (Android, Windows, Linux), as long as it meets our standards.

d) Stakeholder Management:

  • Collaborate with key stakeholders from sales, marketing, customer support, and operations to gather requirements and ensure that the media players meet customer needs.
  • Communicate the product vision and roadmap across departments and ensure alignment between business goals and technical execution.

e) Backlog & Prioritization:

  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, balancing feature development, hardware improvements, and bug fixes, ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Work with engineering teams to assess the technical feasibility of proposed features and hardware integrations.

f) Data-Driven Decisions:

  • Analyze product performance metrics, customer feedback, and market trends to make data-driven decisions about future product improvements.

g) Customer-Centric Focus:

  • Engage with customers to understand pain points and requirements specific to media player devices, integrating that feedback into the product roadmap.
  • Ensure that the media players are easy to install, maintain, and update, with a focus on enhancing the end-user experience.

👍Required Skills & Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • High level of English (+ B2) and Spanish (+B2).

Experience:

  • +3 years of experience in product management, preferably with a focus on hardware devices or embedded systems.
  • Proven track record of delivering successful products in the hardware or IoT space, ideally in digital signage or related fields.

Technical Knowledge:

  • Familiarity with hardware development processes, including manufacturing and supply chain coordination.
  • Experience working with embedded systems, hardware-software integration, and device firmware.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Customer-oriented mindset with the ability to translate user needs into actionable product features.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based digital signage software platforms is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Agile or Scrum methodologies and experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Familiarity with user-centered design principles and working closely with UX/UI teams.
  • Experience managing hardware development cycles, including working with Android, Windows, and Linux platforms.
  • Basic understanding of networking protocols and media formats used in digital signage.
